once upon a time
\n i lived in a mysterious mirror
\n made entirely of imagination
\n and in this mirror
\n everything imagined
\n manifested<\/p>\n
i imagined the mirror
\n to be a vast castle
\n whose corners and caverns
\n i could never see
\n and in truth, by this
\n i was made afraid<\/p>\n
one day i realized (inevitably)
\n that i was alone in the vast castle
\n whose corners and caverns i could never see
\n and just as inevitably i imagined
\n another.<\/p>\n
forgetting the power of this mysterious mirror
\n i set about facing fears
\n once and for all i would find out
\n just what those corners and caverns
\n were about<\/p>\n
of course i thought i was still alone
\n and in truth i was still afraid
\n when suddenly and without warning
\n i stumbled upon another
\n an-other?<\/p>\n
startled i asked, "who are you?"
\n You said, "i am You"
\n "you are not" I replied
\n "i am" You asserted.<\/p>\n
I didn’t understand.
\n I had been alone in the mysterious mirror
\n I had been alone in fear
\n I had been alone in that mysterious mirror
\n when suddenly You had appeared.<\/p>\n
"How can you be?" I asked.
\n "I am that I am" came the reply.
\n "But if i am you," I objected,
"you would be me."
\n "i cannot be you and me" You answered.<\/p>\n
then all at once
\n (and again without warning)
\n in walked yet another!
\n AN-OTHER?!?!<\/p>\n
"well who are you?" I startled.
\n "i am Me" came the answer
\n "but you cannot be me" I baffled
\n "well i cannot be You" Me defended
\n "well i cannot be Me either" You demanded<\/p>\n
desperate to make all things clear again
\n I tried to make You and Me dis-appear
\n but I could not undo what I had imagined
\n so I went on living in fear and confusion
\n with You and with Me
\n as did They with Each Other.<\/p>\n
